Contact with wet cementious mixes (such as mixed concrete and screeds) can cause serious burns and diseases. It is your responsibility to ensure that all staff / people who may come in contact with the mix are made aware of these hazards and that the correct protective clothing, footwear, and eye protection is used.
Direct contact with the skin by wet concrete should be avoided. The eyes are particularly vulnerable and damage will increase with contact time.
When working with or laying concrete the following safety measures must be observed.
- Wear protective clothing , hard hat, googles, gloves and wellingtons
- Avoid direct contact with the wet concrete with the skin or eyes
- Should you come in to contact with wet concrete you must wash and rinse immeadiately with water
